Weekly Recap – April 11th, 2014 – Through Tired Eyes

I had a late, late night dealing with a work issue, so this post is more of an “I’m still alive” ping. Must be prepping me for the baby. 🙂

Speaking of, my wife and I have received some encouraging news from the doctor. Things are looking up and hopefully she can get off pelvic rest in a few weeks.

I’m making some progress on writing. Slow, but progress.

Hope you guys have a great weekend. I’ll be working for most of it, so have some extra fun for me!

-Phillip

  1. Can relate to the ‘work’ issues. No idea what pelvic rest is, but its sounds like it’s a good thing to not being doing it (which goes against my personal belief that all kinds of rest must surely be good for you!). Glad things are looking up. Fingers crossed it stays that way. Laters dude.

    1. Haha, yes, I’m learning all sorts of new terms for. Pelvic rest is basically modified bed rest. She doesn’t have to lay down all the time, but she needs to sit most of the day and only get up to answer the call of nature and/or grab something out of the fridge.

  2. So happy to hear the good news about the baby. No doubt, your wife has had her fill of bed rest. Continued prayers for the baby and your family, Phillip.
    Don’t work too hard!

    1. Thank you Jill! We’re looking forward to get back to some normalcy, though it will be a totally different normalcy with the baby!

  3. That is good news, Phillip! I pray for your wife and child’s continued good health. Sorry about your work issue. Yes, it’s best to prepare for those midnight feedings! 😀

  4. Glad to hear your wife is doing well. When is the due date, Phillip? You’ve probably heard it now, but rest (and write) while you can, my friend. Both wife and baby are going to need you when your bundle of joy arrives! Sorry to hear you’re working this weekend. Hopefully next weekend will be better.

    1. Thank you Gwen! We’re looking at somewhere around August 11th. A Leo just like me. 🙂 And thanks for the advice. I’m definitely trying to get as much rest as I can before.

  5. Hang in there, Phillip! You have a big cheering section out here from all the parents who follow you, and we’re all wishing you and your wife well. And I second Gwen’s advice: rest and write while you can. 😉

    1. Many thanks Candace. 😀 Seems like rest is the #1 tip.

  6. Phillip, soon you’ll be writing that you had a late, late night hanging out with your newborn 😉 Hang in there, and hope things continue to go well for you and your wife.

    1. Thank you Marie. I think you’re right. My sleepy eyes will likely be around for years to come. 🙂

  7. Ah, get used to those sleepy eyes 😉
