You Must Find Joy in the Work Itself

Thank you, Marie Ann Bailey, for sharing this timely essay. I figured some of you would find solace in parts of this. As someone easily overwhelmed (something I’ll talk about in a future post and what I’m doing about it), there are good reminders here: writing is not a race and perseverance makes all the difference.

  1. Was interesting. Thanks to Marie as well

    1. Glad you enjoyed the article John.

  2. Making time…so important. As far as comparisons, I do think in some instances it’s okay. I like to compare myself to my fellow writer friends who are writing machines and get published. It gives me that push I need at times. Thanks, Marie and Phillip!

    1. I agree, Jill. There are times were holding yourself up to another person’s achievements can stir up the blood! Thanks for reading!

  3. I like how you sum up that part of the essay: writing is not a race. Good thing to remember πŸ™‚

    1. Definitely. πŸ™‚ Thanks again, Marie.

  4. Good points to remember even for those of us who’ve been at it for a while. πŸ™‚

  5. Very good advice (particularly about the comparison thing). And I agree that even seasoned writers will get something out of it!
